THE STATEMENT THAT 'CELTIC IS THE FIRST BRITISH TEAM TO WIN THE UERO CUP' IS INCORRECT. CELTIC IS THE FIRST SCOTTISH TEAM TO WIN THE EURO CUP. THERE IS NOT AND NEVER HAS BEEN, A BRITISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE. THERE ARE 4 LEAGUES. SCOTLAND ENGLAND WALES AND NORTHERN IRELAND WHICH ARE ALL RUN BY EACH COUNTRIES' FOOTBALL ASSOCIATIONS. THEREFORE I ASK THAT THE CHANGE BE MADE TO REFLECT THE CORRECT INFORMATION: CELTIC IS THE FIRST SCOTTISH TEAM TO WIN THE EURO CUP. HibsSJRTO (talk) 00:41, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This.
It needs changing.
It's obvious that Wikipedia has a pro unionist agenda and shows little respect to Scotland and Wales as countries. There is no need for this page to mention anything other than Scottish.
Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Currently, the article does not mention the total number of trophies they've won. I wouldn't add the total number of trophies won because the number will frequently change. The club is known fairly well as Glasgow Celtic. I've added this to the open, with a link to the official Celtic profile, but User: 2601AC47 has been engaging in an edit war ("aint gonna happen" [sic] and "not fooling me" being his two reasons for editing).
The opening had been "The Celtic Football Club, commonly known as Celtic (/ˈsɛltɪk/), and also referred to as Glasgow Celtic" with reference. I think this should be an addition, especially given the style of other club pages. Thoughts? Bbx118 (talk) 20:08, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A X user profile is normally meant to be put under external links. You need a better reliable source reference. And to be clear, I'm not warring, just watching. Remember that. 2601AC47 (talk·contribs·my rights) Isn't a IP anon20:12, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That isn't WP:RSP. User generated X posts are not generally reliable. Direct references from official account sources, however, are. I cited a direct reference from the official and verified account. And to be clear, your edit summaries gave the strong impression you were either warring, or trolling. Bbx118 (talk) 20:20, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So, do you have a actual reliable source (or ten) that states that the club's name can be called the Glasgow Celtic(s)? Of course, you really don't and (with all due respect) wrongly accuse me of trolling, which assumes bad faith. 2601AC47 (talk·contribs·my rights) Isn't a IP anon16:20, 30 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I get how it should not be considered an official name. But to suggest that no reliable sources, or fans themselves, ever call the club "Glasgow Celtic" is easily demonstrated as wrong. (And no-one said anything about "the Glasgow Celtic(s)", that's entirely your invention.)
